Behind The Scenes of Our Photoshoots!

What truly goes on behind the scenes of our photoshoots?

Having a professional and passionate team working behind the scenes of our photoshoots is very important, you would be amazed at the amount of detail that goes behind the scenes of every photoshoot. This is in order to get the best results. Here at Capture Factory we make sure to deliver to the highest possible standard. It’s not as easy as it seems and it is certainly a lot more time consuming than you would think. We thought it would be fun to reveal to you what goes on behind the scenes of our photoshoots!

Prepping

From the opening of packages to the final product, we try to deliver our best efforts. Our team always start by carefully opening up and organising all the clothes that gets sent to us. It then gets hung up in correlation to what is going to be shot first. First of all, before anything is shot we receive clear instructions on how the company wants their clothes to be presented in the image. We then go ahead and steam all the items of clothing to ensure that they look flawless and lack any imperfections!

Styling the garments

The process changes based on whether the clothes are worn by a model, shot on a mannequin or pinned on a white board. If we have models that have come in to wear the clothing, we have professional help professional help hired. From makeup artists to hair stylists we want to hire the best team to contribute to the behind the scenes of our photoshoots. We also work closely with a trusted modelling agency to provide us with the best models at competitive prices. Lighting, sets and good equipment are also of major importance as these elements are the basis to a good quality photograph.

Attention to detail

It’s not enough to just throw the clothes on a mannequin, you need to meticulously position the clothing correctly in response to what the client wants, get the perfect angle and style the items so it looks at its best. The attention to detail could be as little as a crease in a T-shirt or a label poking out. You need plenty of time and patience to create something that will tick all the boxes and satisfy clients requests, which is why it’s best not to leave booking a shoot until last minute.

Thoughts?

We hope this gave you a little bit of insight of the behind the scenes of our photoshoots, what you see in the final result doesn’t always come easy! Were you expecting this much level of work? Would you like more behind the scenes content from us? We are always busy and working hard on something here at our Brighton HQ. You can book your desired photoshoots with us anytime. Cyclewear photography at Capture Factory Brighton

Cyclewear photography at our Brighton HQ

Our head photographer Rory worked on some cyclewear photography recently. Our client wanted the prints and colours in the garments to be used as the background of the images and it worked really well. Take a look at how they turned out here.

Fun colours and cool prints

These colours and prints work really well together when they’re sitting side by side. The images look great on our clients social media platforms and their website. It was all photographed at our Brighton studio by the sea. Many of our shoots are photographed here at the Capture Factory HQ, so if you ever pop in you’ll probably see our photographers in action!

Model shots & invisible mannequin for their online shop

For this shoot our client had already sent the garments in the post so we could photograph their invisible mannequin shots before the model shoot. This is a really popular way a lot of our clients like to work when they book model shoots with us, it’s so that the invisible mannequin images are edited and ready shortly after the model shoot, then they can upload the images at the same time onto their website.

Check out our invisible mannequin photography page for more information about it

Charity fashion photoshoot at Capture Factory

Charity fashion photoshoot at Capture Factory

Capture Factory recently worked on a charity fashion photoshoot where a Brighton boutique has collaborated with a few of the UK’s leading charities and £10 from each sale will go towards the charity. The three charities are Whoopsadaisy – helping children with cerebral palsy, Born Free – raising awareness of endangered species across the world, and Plan International – advancing children’s rights and equality for girls around the world. The photoshoot took place at our Brighton studio where we photographed the models wearing the garments along with providing the invisible mannequin imagery for our client.

Kids clothes stop video animation

Making a stop motion video at Capture Factory

Take a look at this stop motion video! Recently we were asked by one of our clients to make a selection of Autumn inspired stop motion animations for their new collection. This was a fun task with outcomes our client was very happy with. They supplied us with a selection of the clothes they wanted us to showcase along with a range of Autumnal props to use. We were given a brief to follow with the type of animations that were required then the rest was left to us.

Why stop motion?

Stop motion animation is great to use for your online presence such as your social media platforms like Instagram. They are snappy and eye catching and entice your audience to stop and look a little longer at your imagery. They are simply made of many photographs that are then put together to create a moving image. Being made of so many photos means that you’re also able to use any image used in the animation, giving you lots of photography to use as you wish!

Moving image at Capture Factory

We don’t just stop at animations & Gifs, we also have an excellent video production team and are CAA approved to use our 4K state of the art drone for all of your videography needs! Take a look at our Drone Showreel here.

Sussex fashion photography studio shoots fun men’s & womenswear

Recently in our Sussex fashion photography studio, Capture Factory, we’ve had some fun retro dresses and cool t-shirts to shoot for a local client. They are Brighton based, so basically on our doorstep and their shop has been a favourite for many residents and visitors alike. Their focus is on fun and quirky prints on timeless cuts of dresses inspired from the 40’s through to the 70’s.

The fabrics are quality and everything is handmade in England. Recently they’ve expanded their shop and joint with their men’s wear branch just over the road. The men’s side has some really cool t-shirts with some great prints on them. Just take a look at a small collection we’ve picked out to share with you on our blog post.

How we create invisible mannequin photography

First up, our client delivered their garments to our Brighton studio, we then unpack, prep and steam the items so they’re all ready for photographing. Next, we start dressing our mannequin, we have an excellent team at Capture Factory of photographers, stylists and re-touchers. Our stylist makes sure the garment looks great on the mannequin, so there aren’t any strange folds, everything is symmetrical and it looks as perfect as possible.

Efficient, professional & friendly team

Then our photographer takes the necessary shots, some clients like a front, back & detail of each garment. Using industry standard software and an efficient workflow throughout the studio, these images are then instantly updated onto all of the Macs at Capture Factory, ready for our team to start working their re-touching magic. Re-touching can range from de-dusting, making the image symmetrical and perfect, colour adjustments and much more. They edited images are then ready for checking by one of the team before sending over to our client. Our workflow is efficient and precise, we always make sure to have the photographs ready to send within 72 hours.
